What Is a CRPC® and Why Does It Matter to You?

When you see CRPC® after an advisor's name, it tells you something specific: this person has invested in specialized training focused entirely on retirement.

CRPC® stands for Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, a designation awarded by the College for Financial Planning. It is not a general financial planning credential. It is earned by completing a rigorous retirement-focused curriculum, passing a comprehensive exam, and committing to ongoing continuing education and a strict code of ethics.

What That Training Covers

Advisors who hold the CRPC® designation are trained in the areas that matter most once you shift from saving to spending:

  • Building a retirement income plan that lasts
  • Social Security timing and maximization strategies
  • Required minimum distributions and withdrawal sequencing Medicare, healthcare costs, and long-term care planning
  • Tax-efficient retirement income strategies
  • Estate planning coordination

Why It Matters for Your Retirement

Accumulating wealth and distributing it wisely are two very different skill sets. The transition into retirement is one of the most financially complex phases of your life. Working with an advisor who holds the CRPC® means you're working with someone specifically trained for that transition, not just someone who handles retirement as one of many services.

At ClearPath Financial, retirement income planning is not a side service. It is everything we do.
